Democracy – Planning Committee – Permission Granted

The joy of democracy, playing charades is a good preparatory exercise. In the end of a long evening, we were granted a planning permission for a large redevelopment in Lambeth. Not without futile debate over the planning department performance, and the committee members putting on the ‘ignorant’ hat, ignoring all respect to planning guidance and wasting valuable time of the general public.

Committee meetings are open to the public, and could easily substitute a night out to the theater, without the associated costs, and if you have a genuine interest and register you might get few minutes of fame.

As professionals we are appalled from the mockery in which our applications are being discussed on the committee, where subtle politics between members rule on the development of our home, town and city, instead of a real constructive debate.

Permission to Blog

At this day and age, the older we get, the more distant we are from this e-world, however some of us do try and make the leap of faith and e-ngage the world. So all of you out there – I humbly ask Permission to Blog.

The Architect’s Hat is both my thinking hat and my protective ware, it is my effort to safeguard the process in which I engage in the professional life.
